Merit Badges

There are more than 135 merit badges that can be earned in Scouting covering a wide variety of topics.  Requirements for a merit badge can be found in a merit badge book, available for sale at the Scout shop or can easily be found online.  Examples include:  swimming, fishing, farm mechanics, music and welding.  A scout completes requirements with their merit badge counselor, along the way demonstrating skills and increasing understanding of the badge's subject.  The Troop has several merit badge counselors within the Troop.  

To earn the rank of Eagle, a scout must complete at least 21 merit badges, 14 of the 21 must come from a list of Eagle-required merit badges.
